Children tend to go into “self-protective mode” and “clam up” when there is internal turmoil.

What is Play Therapy and how it can help?
Play therapy is a developmentally appropriate form of therapy that helps children express their thoughts and feelings through play. Because children do not always have the words to explain what they are experiencing, play becomes their natural language for communicating emotions, worries, and life experiences.
In play therapy, children use toys, art, stories, and imagination to explore their inner world in a safe and supportive environment. Through this process, children are able to express feelings, work through challenges, and develop new ways of understanding themselves and their relationships.
A trained play therapist observes and reflects the child’s play, helping them make sense of their experiences while building emotional awareness, confidence, and resilience.
Play therapy allows children to feel seen, understood, and supported as they grow and navigate the challenges of childhood.
